Cooling with Kids

There are so many benefits to cooking with young children. Here are the top seven: Children learn early math skills, such as measurement, conservation of matter and liquids, fractions, sequencing, and shapes. Children’s vocabulary increases. Picky eaters are much more likely to try food that they help prepare. Children learn chemistry and science. They must make predictions and an understanding of how food changes when it is cooked. Children learn how to solve problems. When instruction is included into the shared experience, geography can be taught, such as where different foods grow and why they grow best there.
